Our IV&V Expertise
Independent Verification and Validation (IV&V) is crucial to the successful implementation of mission critical systems. IV&V encompasses a series of analytical activities performed by an independent third party to identify areas of improvement that will increase the quality and reliability of a system or project under development.
Our IV&V Center of Excellence
We created an IV&V Center of Excellence to monitor the quality of our products and services, making sure that each deliverable meets our high standards. The VeriSolv IV&V Methodology (VIM™) employs our lessons learned from large, complex IT projects and leverages industry standards and best practices, including:
- Software Engineering Institute’s (SEI) Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI) Level 3
- Institute of Electrical Electronics Engineering (IEEE) Standards 1012-2004 (Standard for Software Verification and Validation)
- Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)
- ISO 9001 Standards
We also have a Quality Assurance (QA) and IV&V Process Asset Library (PAL) to store IV&V plans, processes, templates, checklists, examples, and industry best practice standards and white papers. Our PAL enables us to provide customers with a more efficient process by minimizing project start-up time and establishing a sound foundation for our QA and IV&V services.
Our IV&V Services
VeriSolv performs the following IV&V services:
- Testing: We conduct end-to-end testing on IT systems to evaluate compliance with approved requirements. We perform an objective assessment, analysis, evaluation, review, inspection, and testing of software products and processes. We validate that the development products conform to the requirements and that the software will satisfy the users’ needs.
- Quality Assurance: We provide objective feedback about how well project(s) comply with approved plans, agency and federal standards, and industry best practices.
- Domain Assessments: We evaluate the quality of software engineering work products that can be developed in any SDLC phase (e.g., Project Management, Requirements, Design, Operational) to validate whether they meet the requirements and leverage industry best practices and standards. Each IV&V assessment requires unique domain knowledge, thus VeriSolv assigns functional and technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) based on the specific requirements of each assessment.
Our IV&V Staff
Our IV&V staff consists of highly experienced project managers, analysts, testers and SMEs with strong skills, knowledge, and talents to support the IV&V needs of our customers.
- We provide project oversight with PMI-certified project managers.
- Our analysts, testers, and SMEs have an average of 10+ years of experience.
- Our senior QA consultants and technical writer/editors understand that established standards are reflected in all processes, procedures, and documents and that standards and industry best practices are followed.
We have successfully completed numerous IV&V projects for federal, state and commercial entities.
